The Reason I Moved To California- Oakland Children’s Photographer

February 5th, 2009

I fell in love with California before even stepping foot on this coast. In college I’d spend endless hours looking at our extensive Photo Library. We even had a collection of original prints as well and we were required to wear archival-safe gloves for handling them. I loved the work of Minor White and Ansel Adams. I loved the thousand tones between black and white that they were able to exhibit in one black and white print. I was never much of a landscape photographer and now that I no longer shoot in large format, I’m even less compelled. Still I love to photograph people and pairing my subjects with the perfect landscape as a backdrop is just as enjoyable as taking the photo itself. Here are some photos of some of my favorite little men. Each is just shy of 15 months and they’re the most courageous explorers. No doubt they touched the coldest water that their soft skin has ever felt today. The Pacific is one frigid ocean. Cold, yet, beautiful. Enjoy!

Tell a friend, we’re jump- starting the new year!- Oakland Photographer

January 22nd, 2009

Happy New Year everyone! We have some big plans for this new year. For starters, in lieu of our ailing economy Photography By Kemmeo has modified pricing. Our wedding Package A, dubbed the “Economic Stimulus Package” will be available through December 2010. We are eliminating a couple of “perks” and bringing it down to $1800 for all of our thrifty or rather, “pinched”, brides and grooms. Packages B and C will remain the same. In addition, our standard portrait commissions will now start at $250 for a 1-2 hour session (plus travel). So if you are seeking that Valentine’s boudoir session, 1st year photo, or an engagement session, let’s get you penciled in toute de suite!

Also with the New Year comes a new lens addition to our Canon Family and I can’t wait to do a couple of sessions with it! To set things off, Photography By Kemmeo will be extending a free portrait session to two local readers. I will be using a random list generator to choose the two winners. Names will be chosen and announced on our blog page on Valentine’s Day. You will have until October 31, 2009 to use the session. There are one of two ways to enter. You may leave your e-mail address here in “comments” or you can e-mail us through the Photography By Kemmeo website. By entering, you are consenting to be added to our e-mailing list which will keep you abreast of all events and promotions sponsored by Photography by Kemmeo (your e-mail will not be shared and you may unsubscribe at any time). Please forward this e-mail to any Bay Area folks who may be interested.

And last but not least, look for exclusive promotions with some of our favorite Bay Area vendors and Photography By Kemmeo in the new year.

Signing off…Happy New Year and may this be a prosperous and beautiful one for you all.

Cheers.
Kemmeo

Gift Certificates- Oakland Photographer

December 6th, 2008

With the busy holiday season, my apologies for not posting photos of your family and little ones on our blog– it’s not for lack of interesting and beautiful subjects, I’ve just been busy actually getting the packages retouched and out to you (that and marinating turkeys!) For those who have not taken advantage of our 2008 Holiday promotion, I just wanted to send out a buzz– buy a gift certificate for a friend or family member (expires November 2009) before the end of December 2008 and lock in on our Photo Session and Premium Package for $200. If you know of someone who is getting engaged, giving birth, or celebrating their 1st birthday, in 2009, what better gift to give?
