MJ, You Move Me- Oakland Newborn Photographer

Thursday, August 23rd, 2012

I vowed to spend next week catching up on blog posts but I was just so pleased with this recent session that I had to post them in between my newborn’s wailing.  This little 2 week old was just the sweetest little bean.  I recently borrowed the movie Hugo from our library and I was so inspired by all of the “picture magic” in the set making that I’ve decided to start advertising fun studio sessions in addition to my regular documentary sessions.  Keep checking in for more fantastical children photography!  And if you’d like to schedule a session and have a few ideas of your own, lets talk!  MJ, thanks for being such a cooperative baby and Mama, thanks for not cowering at the site of a big ole Manzanita branch on the set beside your baby!

I’ve Just Met A Girl Named Maria- Marin Portrait Photographer

Saturday, October 16th, 2010

And what a phenomenal woman Maria is!  This was a fun photo shoot that included full belly laughs as if we were old friends as we waited for the fog to burn off.  Maria put up with my forcing her to become “one” with the elements and I think these photos reveal her good nature– for those who don’t know, the Pacific Ocean is one COLD ocean in these parts.

I was thoroughly impressed to learn Maria’s story.  A talented and tenacious account executive, her tenacity was tested a couple of months ago as she competed in her toughest triathlon to date– The Ironman Triathlon in Louisville Kentucky– a 17 hour race!  The fact that she’s an account executive gives away the fact that she is not a professional athlete.  In fact, until training, Maria hadn’t been on a bike since she was 7 years old!  Her story is phenomenal and here is a link to her blog that tells it all.  Maria, thank you for a lovely morning/afternoon, enjoy this sneak peek!

Rubies and Roses and Everything Nice!- Oakland Family Portrait Photographer

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Well it doesn’t quite rhyme but it easily describes my most recent family portrait session. This family lives with gusto- creativity, energy, a love of art, music (even hip hop), calligraphy, reading (I’m sure that the girls are reading this entry themselves ;o), and two knowledgeable and nurturing parents serving as the proverbial ‘cream on top’. I have no doubt that these young ladies will someday be two Davinciesque forces, certainly, not to be reckoned with but in the meantime, keep up the great work and I hope that you all enjoy this sneak peek from our session! Thank you for allowing me to spend the morning with you (and for stuffing me with tea and ginger cake)! Enjoy!
