Teri, my Rock!– Alameda Children’s Photographer

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

I am referring to my doula, Teri Nava-Anderson of HarmonyDoula.com.  Teri helped to transition (no pun intended) me into my current status of mother of two (this time sans epidural) and I could not have done it without her.  Teri is also the mother of two beautiful boys and I was honored to photograph the family of this woman who has come to mean so much to my family.  If you plan to give birth and can budget a doula into your birth plan, I say do it!  I’ve done it both ways and my experience was exponentially more relaxed (is that an oxymoron when referring to one’s labor?).  Thank you for your patience– accepting calls at odd hours and the list goes on… I hope that the four of you enjoy this sneak peek.  There is more to come.  Happy New Year!

PS- Not sure why the images (bear in mind that they’re small jpgs) are just mammoth on here but…

One Fine Day-Berkeley Children’s Photographer

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

I had a great time photographing Marcie’s family.  I was initially concerned that despite our early morning reveille, we hadn’t received the foggy morning overcast that the Bay Area is known for.  But we had smiles, curls, and water play amid the sun and that was plenty!  Thank you for a wonderful day!  Enjoy this sneak peek.

A Stroll on the Beach– Mill Valley Family Photographer

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

What a lovely family!  I am currently approaching my 4th month of pregnancy and at the time of this shoot I was really contemplating the possibility that I may give birth to another son and wondering (coming from a predominately female family) what brothers were like!  Enter this beautiful family and I instantly became a believer!  These boys were mature, respectful, loving to their parents and affectionate with one another in addition to being rugged and rambunctious as boys tend to be.  What a gift it was to spend the afternoon watching this family’s dynamic!  And what a gift it was to meet Kira– one of the most serendipitous acquaintances I’ve ever met.  We counted five instances where we may have crossed paths (in addition to High School swim meets in Connecticut, we worked in two of the same places of employment and just missed one another by one year).  Incredible that it would be this beautiful day on the beach, far from the East Coast where our paths would ultimately cross!  I hope that the four of you enjoy this little preview– there’s more to come!
