I am referring to my doula, Teri Nava-Anderson of HarmonyDoula.com. Teri helped to transition (no pun intended) me into my current status of mother of two (this time sans epidural) and I could not have done it without her. Teri is also the mother of two beautiful boys and I was honored to photograph the family of this woman who has come to mean so much to my family. If you plan to give birth and can budget a doula into your birth plan, I say do it! I’ve done it both ways and my experience was exponentially more relaxed (is that an oxymoron when referring to one’s labor?).
