MJ, You Move Me- Oakland Newborn Photographer

Thursday, August 23rd, 2012

I vowed to spend next week catching up on blog posts but I was just so pleased with this recent session that I had to post them in between my newborn’s wailing.  This little 2 week old was just the sweetest little bean.  I recently borrowed the movie Hugo from our library and I was so inspired by all of the “picture magic” in the set making that I’ve decided to start advertising fun studio sessions in addition to my regular documentary sessions.  Keep checking in for more fantastical children photography!  And if you’d like to schedule a session and have a few ideas of your own, lets talk!  MJ, thanks for being such a cooperative baby and Mama, thanks for not cowering at the site of a big ole Manzanita branch on the set beside your baby!

Welcome Sweet Nolan– San Francisco Newborn Photographer

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Just three weeks younger than my son, I was introduced to this adorable 4 week old and I was reminded of how small and dear newborns are upon their arrival.  Nolan was very alert and amazingly prehensile!  I’ve never seen quite a grip on a one month old but considering he comes from a family of cross-generation SF Bay Area baseball players, I’m not surprised.  I have no doubt that he’ll be in the papers some day (if they still exist) and I’ll proudly declare that I  took his first photos.  Thanks for your patience– you guys were wonderful to work with.  I hope that you enjoy this sneak peek.

Cheers!

Teri, my Rock!– Alameda Children’s Photographer

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

I am referring to my doula, Teri Nava-Anderson of HarmonyDoula.com.  Teri helped to transition (no pun intended) me into my current status of mother of two (this time sans epidural) and I could not have done it without her.  Teri is also the mother of two beautiful boys and I was honored to photograph the family of this woman who has come to mean so much to my family.  If you plan to give birth and can budget a doula into your birth plan, I say do it!  I’ve done it both ways and my experience was exponentially more relaxed (is that an oxymoron when referring to one’s labor?).  Thank you for your patience– accepting calls at odd hours and the list goes on… I hope that the four of you enjoy this sneak peek.  There is more to come.  Happy New Year!

PS- Not sure why the images (bear in mind that they’re small jpgs) are just mammoth on here but…
