Rubies and Roses and Everything Nice!- Oakland Family Portrait Photographer

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Well it doesn’t quite rhyme but it easily describes my most recent family portrait session. This family lives with gusto- creativity, energy, a love of art, music (even hip hop), calligraphy, reading (I’m sure that the girls are reading this entry themselves ;o), and two knowledgeable and nurturing parents serving as the proverbial ‘cream on top’. I have no doubt that these young ladies will someday be two Davinciesque forces, certainly, not to be reckoned with but in the meantime, keep up the great work and I hope that you all enjoy this sneak peek from our session! Thank you for allowing me to spend the morning with you (and for stuffing me with tea and ginger cake)! Enjoy!

Hats, Hats, and More Hats!

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

This week I had the pleasure of collaborating with someone who I both admire and whose work I just love. Meril DaSilva after 25 years of working in the millinery industry will be launching her new online retail business with her Spring debut in a couple of weeks. And who better to photograph her newest line than her own daughter! This was one collaboration that I will forever cherish. I will post a link to her website when it is up and running but look out world Meril of Meril’s Original Hat Design has been busy in her little NYC boutique! Congratulations Mom! Here’s a sneak peek of a few detail shots for the website. Click on the square to see the entire image.
